Centering Prayer

What We Do

Centering Prayer comes out of a desire to recapture and renew the Christian Contemplative Tradition for contemporary times. It is a way of cultivating interior stillness and of developing a fundamental attitude towards a relationship with God. Centering Prayer is a kind of cascading movement of consent from exterior and interior noise to stillness and ultimately to the center of our being, beyond self-reflection to being with God...to just sit there and be still in God's presence...and let happen what happens.

We come together twice a week to learn and deepen the practice of Centering Prayer at All Saints Church in the main Sanctuary. We also come together in small discussion groups to develop friendships, study Centering Prayer, and discuss how this practice can enrich our ordinary lives.

Various events and retreats are offered throughout the year in which aspects of the Christian Contemplative Tradition are studied more in depth.

When We Meet

Centering Prayer meets Mondays at 7:30 a.m. and Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. From October through May, participants in the Wednesday evening service meet afterwards for teachings and small-group discussion on how to deepen our practice.
